Winner of the Zimbabwe National Poetry Award, Albert Nyathi is known as 'the voice of the people' and has performed before. The group were also chosen to represent African Music at the Youth Congress in Hawaii, 1999. Explosive,dynamic and visually stunning, Imbongi are a high-energy must-see fusion of words, song, music and dance. On-stage,they are an exciting and vibrant blend of Traditional, Blues, Jazz and Contemporary African Music.

On this tour the group are joined on guitar by South Africa's prince of Maskanda guitar Maqhinga Radebe. Literally storming Glastonbury Festival, Sidmouth and WOMAD on their last visits in 2000, 2001 and 2004 in addition to many appearances around the country, delighted audiences were left spell-bound by the sheer diversity and energy of Albert and the band.

The group consists of male and female dancers and vocalists who callaborate with keyboards,guitars, drums and the poignant poetry of Albert Nyathi to provide vigorous and highly charged performances of contemporary African music at its finest.
