DUBBLEHEAD
An extraordinary live band, exotically blending electronic dub and ska, archive reggae samples, eclectic dance and world influences and live instruments in a free flowing and mainly improvised set.

Featuring Tom Brooks (ex Ozric Tentacles/Global) and Nigel Shaw (Global/Riven), as well as
the talents of Leaf Hillyer (guitar and electronica wizard), Johnny O'Rourke (trumpet)
and Ed Brooks (drums/percussion with Acid Mothers Temple).

Voted ‘best band not on TV' at Glastonbury Festival by Radio 1's Zane Lowe.

Dubblehead are …..
Tom Brooks was one of the original members of space rockers Ozric Tentacles. He performed with them for many years including at the Stonehenge festival. In the early 90's he formed the dance/techno band Global with Nigel Shaw. After many classic gigs including Glastonbury festival, Tom left Global to move his music into dub. Dubblehead was formed as a project featuring both musicians and DJ's to creating dub fusion sounds that embrace world, techno and dance roots. He has worked on dub remixes for artists including The Rootsman. Tom has also organised very large and successful fundraising gigs for Oxfam over the past few years.
Nigel Shaw is best known for his ambient solo work. However, he was also the co-founder of Global and has since gone on the form the band Riven creating one of the finest world/dance acts on the festival circuit. He also produced the album of arctic chillout, Ancestors. Some of the money raised from album sales goes to support tribal people through the charity, Survival International. He has been working with Tom Brooks as part of Dubblehead for the past five years.
